Housing benefit (Wohngeld) in Patersberg
Patersberg is in rent level (Mietenstufe) I. The rent level (often written “Mietstufe”) decides up to which rent the housing benefit takes into account.
Up to which rent and income is housing benefit paid?
The figures apply to a household in Patersberg at rent level I. Rent counts only up to the maximum amount (including the climate component). Income is a gross monthly wage, calculated for one person with tax and social contributions; the other people have no income of their own.
| People in the household | Rent counts up to | Gross wage up to about |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | €380 | €2,160 |
| 2 | €462 | €2,890 |
| 3 | €551 | €3,600 |
| 4 | €642 | €4,850 |
A guide, not a promise: calculated with a rent equal to the maximum amount. With a lower rent, or more expenses that may be deducted (e.g. allowances for severely disabled people or single parents), the limit shifts. Assets above the limit rule out housing benefit.

Outlook 2027 (draft bill, not passed)
Under the draft (Bundestag document 21/8284), Patersberg would stay in rent level I.
| People in the household | Rent counts up to | Gross wage up to about |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | €380 | €1,930 |
| 2 | €462 | €2,570 |
| 3 | €551 | €3,190 |
| 4 | €642 | €4,260 |
The income limit would fall because the calculation formula and the heating cost component are to be changed. Anyone who applies for housing benefit before 1 January 2027 keeps their amount until the end of the approval period under the draft (§ 42e), usually twelve months. Whether and in what form the law comes is open.
